Shipping: Shipping company to stop dumping sewage in Gulf Of Finland

Uutiset reports that the shipping company Tallink, with operates a passenger service between Helsinki and Tallinn, has said that it will stop dumping sewage into the Gulf of Finland. In future it would discharge its waste water into the sewage system of Helsinki.

Apparently even though other shipping companies have stopped the practice, such dumping is not in violation of international regulations.
