Tariffs: US retain penalty tariffs on shrimp imports from India and Thailand

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has voted to retain penalty tariffs imposed on shrimp imports from India and Thailand - countries hit by last years tsunami.

The commission voted unanimously that the US industry would continue to be injured by imports of shrimp from India and Thailand if penalty tariffs were removed.

The industry in both countries was injured when the tsunami flooded shrimp farms, destroyed fishing boats and killed thousands of fishermen.
