Trade: Afghanistan to join Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation

Afghanistan is the latest member of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program.

The decision was made following the CAREC 4th ministerial conference in Bishkek, Kyryz Republic on Sunday. Afghanistan's participation is considered strategically important for the organization because of Afghanistan's proximity to China, India and Russia.

Other CAREC members are Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
