Trade: Nepal to become transit corridor for trade between China and India

Radio Nepal reports that Nepal is to develop a transit corridor for trade between China and India.

National Planning Commission Vice-chairman Shankar Sharma, said the government would initiate plans for infrastructure development, trade facilitation system and identification of cost effective routes.

Resources have been set aside in the 2005-2006 budget to develop several north-south roads linking India with China through Nepal.
