Women's Issues: Female political party in Afghanistan?

Female fitness instructor, Fauzia Sadat Gailani, wants to form Afghanistan's first ever women’s political party.

Arab News reports that in recent elections she has topped the tally for Herat's seats on the new national assembly, triumphing over influential war commanders and other local leaders. As the report indicates, she is liked not just because of her looks (although I think the article makes too many references to her appearance) but because of her activities and the amount of work she put in during the campaign.

As we would say, she put in the hard yards - something that perhaps certain members of the God squad should keep in mind when forming opinions on political gender issues.
