Environment: Zambia committed to reducing greenhouse gases

Zambia's Environment deputy minister Nedson Nzowa, has said that Zambia is committed to reducing greenhouse gases emission.

Speaking at the Eleventh Session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties and the First Session of the Kyoto Protocol in Montreal, Canada, he said Zambia was committed to the protection of the climate system for the benefit of present and future generations of mankind.

To achieve this, Zambia has implemented legislation under the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Act of 1990 and the fifth National Development Plan for 2006 to 2011.
