Gas: Syria awards natural gas contract to Russia

Syria has awarded two natural gas contracts to a Russian company. The $370 million contract went to Stroitransgaz, which is part of the state owned Gazprom.

There are two contracts (1) design and laying of a 194 mile section of pipeline from the Syrian-Jordanian border to ar-Rayan (2) A natural gas processing plant

Completion of both is expected within two years.
