Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday but by the time I got back from the hospital, attended to other issues and also took delivery of a new fridge, I just couldn't get my head around updating the blog.
Instead of the traditional white, the new fridge is one of these brushed steel designs that at first makes it look a little like a left over prop from Quincy MD. Probably quite appropriate as often things that come out of my fridges then put in an oven, are often dissected and examined by dinner guests to find out what the hell it is.
"Look, do you see this? looks like a chicken bone".
"What are you saying? are you telling me that this was once a chicken?"
"Yes. But what happened to it, that's what I'd like to know".
The doors of the fridge also have an alarm system. If you leave the door open for 90 seconds, it gives a series of "beeps". Leave it open for five minutes and it gives a continuous "beep". This of course is nothing new. Anyone who was a kid in my day would know that if you left a fridge door open for a few minutes, the look on your mums face would be enough to set alarm bells ringing.
Personally, I think if the fridge was that darn smart it would shut the door itself after 90 seconds. Another thing - not only do finger prints not stay on the door of the fridge - neither do fridge magnets! Luckily, the magnets do stay on the side. I have a nice collection that have been sent to me by Mel and also Jenny, a long time friend from New York. I don't like relegating them to the side but at least they are still visible.
By the time I finished playing around with alarms and giving it the finger and palm print test, I almost forgot to put the food into it!
Wherever you may be - be safe!
