For sale. One ground floor apartment, close to main roads.This is another in the series "Pictures from a bus" a feature you may not be familiar with, as I only just made it up! It follows on last nights photo "Reflections 536" and as the name suggests, is taken from inside a bus.
What you see in this photograph is only part of the story. The apartment block is surrounded on three sides by construction work on a new tunnel. It stands defiant, like a castle surrounded by a force of earth movers, bulldozers, cranes and jack hammers.
The other side of the building looks even more precarious and given this is the same project that caused the partial collapse of another block of apartments, it is little wonder many locals have doubts about its stability.
At one time the apartments were in a beautiful position and if you wanted to buy one, you would be looking at a million dollars upwards. The views from the higher units are magnificent. Somehow, I don't think I would be too interested now.
