British companies are warned that as a result of the new law on Civil Partnerships, employers should review their systems and processes to ensure compliance.
Under the new legislation, benefits provided to married employees and their spouses must be provided to employees who are civil partners and to their civil partners. Benefits that are available to unmarried couples of opposite sex must be extended equally to same sex couples who have not registered a civil partnership.
