Immigration: 145 Chinese businessmen arrested in Manila

www.chinaview.com.cn has a report on the arrest of 145 Chinese "businessmen" (49 are actually women) in a shopping mall in Manila, Philippines. 102 were arrested on Wednesday and a further 40 the following day. Among those arrested was an 86 year old who claimed he had arrived in Manila on the previous day with valid documents and air ticket.

Philippine immigration authorities said that those detained violated immigration regulations, which stipulate that foreigners are not allowed to carry out retailing business.

According to the report all have been released after each paying about $936 in recognizance
