International Development: $3.7 billion pledged to reduce poverty in Vietnam

International donors have pledged $3.7 billion to help reduce poverty in Vietnam, and to aid economic growth efforts in 2006.

The pledge was made at the end of the annual two-day Consultative Group meeting that brought together multilateral and bilateral donors. The biggest donor is Japan, while France is Europe's leading donor.
