International Development: Japan provides $250 million for three projects in Bangladesh

Japan is to provide $250 million to finance three projects in Bangladesh.

* water-supply improvement in Chittagong.
* replacement of old transformers and installation of new transmission line.
* Dhaka-Chittagong telephone-line development.

After being informed of the decision in a phone call from Japan's Foreign Minister Aso Taro, Foreign Minister Morshed Khan said that Japan was the strongest development partner of the country, since independence in 1971
