The World Bank, has approved an International Development Association (IDA) grant of $40-million to aid the implementation of Malawi's strategy for sustainable economic growth. The project aims to raise agricultural productivity and the net incomes of 196, 550 rural households in 11 target districts of Malawi.
Tijan Sallah, the World Bank Task Team Leader of the project, said: "Farmers can have a better control of water to increase their yields, access markets, and increase their incomes".
