Outsourcing: India set to get 900 jobs British Telecom

The Indian outsourcing industry is set to get another 900 jobs from Britain. British Telecommunications (BT) has awarded a major outsourcing contract to a global IT service company HCL in India.

UK-based Client Logic, a business process outsourcing provider (BPO),has been handling broadband technical support in offices in Derby and Bristol and although the company will continue to provide other support work for BT, it is thought that those two may be moved overseas.

Typically the unions responded with their usual uninformed eloquence, branding it a "disgrace" and accused BT of "circumventing its social obligations".
