Energy: Chinese province to send Vietnam 1 million kw of electricity by 2010

The Chinese province of Yunnan, is expected to send 1 million kw of electricity to Vietnam by 2010. A 220-kilovolt electricity transmission project is currently under construction in the province and a source within the Yunnan Power Grid Company, said the province will begin sending power to Vietnam, on Oct. 1 this year.

The project will have a 258 km long transmission line and will be completed at a cost of around $43.2 million
