China View, reports on the progress of a massive hydropower dam project under construction in Sudan. Stretching nearly 10 km across the River Nile.The damn is being built by the Chinese CCMD joint venture,consisting of the China International Water & Electric Corporation and Sinohydro Corporation (formerly China National Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Corp.). The contract for the Merowe Dam, is worth $650 million.
