Entrepreneurship: Pakistan plans Women Entrepreneur City in Karachi

Pakistan's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), plans to build a Women Entrepreneur City in Karachi. An international conference for female entrepreneurs is also in the pipeline.

Tariq Ikram, chairman EPB said that "the government has fully realized the role of women in the economic progress of the society, which constituted 51 percent of the total population of the country."

He also said that about 36 percent of female entrepreneurs were managing small and medium enterprises, while 54 percent had owned and managed micro enterprises.
