Ethiopia is hoping to make over $300 million dollars by exporting leather shoes. The announcement of a five-year strategic plan to make the country's leather goods industry more competitive on the global market, was made by Yitbarek Fantahun,leader of leather industry development team with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The plan includes creating 74 factories at a cost of $6.68 million. Output is aimed at 20 million pairs of shoes within the five-year period.
