Tonight's picture may look similar to one posted a few weeks back, but it is very different. Well, slightly different as it was taken about 2.2 seconds earlier.
However, it will not be long before readers will be able to experience my latest exciting project. Armed with a Canon IXUS 400, held together by a bit of sticky tape that I can lift up and down to release the memory card (after a bit of shaking), I have been experimenting with photographs of water.
Not just any water mark you, (water - mark - get it!) but water coming out of the tap on my kitchen sink. I must have turned the tap on a million times over the last 14 years without realising the artistic potential it offered.
Ignoring the curious looks and sarcastic enquiries of my mother, as she stood watching me take photographs of a running tap from varying distances and angles (some people are just so devoid of any artistic vision) I took about 30 photographs.
I did get terrific close up macro shots of the kitchen sink, (next time I will take the cup out first) but only one photo came close to reaching my artistic goal. A drop of water seemingly suspended in mid-air.
When I sent it to Mel, she was amazed at my talent and technical ability. OK, she did ask how I was able to take a photograph of a squashed ball-bearing and get that avant-garde blurred effect, but I knew I was on the right lines.
Tonight I will try taking shots as the moonlight bathes the sink in a golden glow!
Wherever you may be - be safe!
