Health: French troops drafted to fight mosquitoes in Reunion

France is to draft 400 troops to help fight the spread of mosquitoes in the Indian Ocean island of Reunion. France will also send health experts to the island where up to 30,000 people have been affected by a crippling disease known as "chikungunya".

Chikungunya is Swahili for "that which bends up" a reference to the stooped posture of those afflicted by the disease for which there is no known vaccine or cure.
