Human Resources: Indian government to issue Smartcards to Indian workers travelling overseas

The Indian government will issue Smart cards to workers seeking jobs in the Gulf and other countries. The identity card will first be issued to people who leave on employment contracts, but require emigration clearance, said Protector General of Emigrants R K Singh.

The move is part of an effort to regulate the flow of Indian workers travelling to the Gulf.
