Industrial Relations: Dubai workers have no right to demonstrate

The Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, has reported that workers have no right to stage protests on the streets or resort to strikes at worksites.

The Khaleejtimes, reports that, "the committee has noted that workers have no excuse to protest or to strike and should instead communicate with it to enforce their rights in a civilised manner".

The publication quotes Salah Bilal Faraj Al Falasi, the Committee's Coordinator as stating workers should not stop working as it adversely affects the interests of their employers even if the latter was unfair with them. "It is not their right to think of negatively affecting the welfare of their employer."
