Industrial Relations: Toyota shuts down its Indian plant due to strike

Toyota Motor Corp. has shut down indefinitely its factory at Bangalore. The move follows a strike by workers that has now entered its third day.

The workers are striking over the sacking of three workers and the suspension of ten others, pending police investigations into misconduct - including assault on a supervisor.

The last time workers at the plant was in 2002, and that lasted almost two months.
