Telecommunications: Nigerian company accepts offer from South African telco

Shareholders of Nigerian company Intercellular Nigeria PLC. (INP), have approves an offer of $137.5 million from South African telco GVT/Telecel.

GVT is managed by its associate company, Telecel International (Pty) Limited, founded Miko Rwayitare. allAfrica.com reports that Rwayitare pioneered the first mobile call on the African continent on a Telecel network in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 1986.
