Corruption: Vietnam aims to stamp out corruption

Vietnam's Prime Minister, Phan Van Khai , has said his government is determined to stamp out rampant corruption in the country.

He said that under an anti-corruption program, all ministries, sectors and localities should develop specific rules and regulations to encourage people to participate in the fight against corruption and make sure grassroots democracy is encouraged. Relevant government agencies must draft a decree detailing implementation of the Anti-Corruption Law, which will come into effect on June 1. In addition, government officials' will be required by law to disclose personal assets.
