Discrimination: Swedish men complain of sex discrimination

Sweden's ombudsman's office, has reported a sharp rise in the number of men who believe they have been discriminated on the basis of their gender.

Since an amendment was made to the law specifically banning gender discrimination, of 56 cases reported under the new amendment, 45 concerned complaints made by men. Taking into account complaints under the previous legislation, the office is handling 82 incidents of alleged discrimination against males,compared to 23 in 2004.

Complaints include different age restrictions for men and women for entry into bars and higher prices for dating services.
