Exports: Major exports to Afghanistan show decline

According to data from Customs Collectorates of Peshawar and Quetta, exports of nine commodities fell during the July-Dec 2005 period.

Goods affected include electronic, sanitary wares, steel products, paints and construction materials. However, the export of cement, ghee, pulses, milk products and medicines grew during the same period.

Indian goods also appear to be taking over from goods imported from Pakistan, due to cheaper prices, better quality, and more assistance from Indian officials.
