Exports: Vietnam's exports rise

Vietnam’s Trade Ministry, has said that the country's exports rose 28.3% in the first two months this year, reaching $5.56 billion in the period and $2.5 billion in February alone.

Export of industrial products jumped over 30% while textile and garment exports recovered dramatically due to a revamp of the quota allocation system. Despite the EU anti-dumping suit, footwear exports rose 30.8% to $582 million.

Handicraft exports registered sharp growth. Lacquer, pottery, and carpets were among the major items shipped to the US, France, Germany, and Japan among others.
