Goodnight from Sydney

The Sydney Morning Herald blog asked he question, "What are your favourite examples of workplace jargon and corporate cliches?"

Anyone who knows me will know that my pet hate is "empowered". The other day I even came across "empowerism" for God's sake. I shouldn't complain though, the use of "empowered" and its many variations was the subject of my very first post.

Running quickly through the list in the SMH, "Heads up" and "There is no 'I' in 'team'" seem to be top of the hate list. Others include:

absolutely
leverage (oh yes!!)
self-directed leisure activity (hobby)
keep you in the loop
workshop that

As I deal with overseas clients, I can assure Australian readers that wannabe wankers are not confined to our land girt by sea.

I think I have unravelled last night's mystery bird. It appears to be a species of Frogmouth, probably a Tawny Frogmouth.

The Tawny Frogmouth is often thought to be a species of owl, but they are in fact related to nightjars. They generally remain sitting very still on a low perch, and wait for food to come to them.

Tawny frogmouths hunt at night and spend the day roosting on a dead log or tree branch close to the tree trunk. Their camouflage is excellent - staying very still and upright, they look just like part of the branch

I call tonight's photo, "Reach out and touch." Clicking to see the larger version gives a much better idea of the twists and turns as the branches reach out for the sky.

Tomorrow morning I am heading for some more treatment and heaven knows what will happen after that! Hopefully the blog will appear at some time, in some form!

Wherever you may be - be safe!
