The Ministry of Justice plans to issue new employment visas for ethnic Koreas living in China and Russia from July in a bid to allow them to work in and visit the nation more freely. Called H-2, the visa will be valid for up to five years for overseas ethnic Koreans and allow them to work a maximum of two years in the nation, according to the ministry.
The Korea Times, reports that the scheme is expected to encourage the descendents of Korean independence fighters during the 1910-45 Japanese colonial rule to seek job opportunities in South Korea.
