Industrial Relations: South Korean train stewardesses ditch uniforms, don jeans

Stewardesses working on South Korea’s bullet trains have taken unusual action protest about job security, back wages and better working conditions.

The 380 unionised attendants ditched their uniforms and turned up in T-shirts, blue jeans and sneakers. Their union said all were barred from boarding the train.

The railway corporation issued a statement saying, "The refusal to wear uniforms violates job rules."
