International Development: Belgium gives $297,000 in food aid to Tanzania

Belgium is to donate emergency food aid worth approximately $297,000 to drought-stricken Tanzania.

The Belgian Development Co-operation Minister, Armand De Dekker, said that the aid would be distributed in 12 regions. He also urged Tanzania to find lasting solutions to avoid future food crises in the country.

The World Food Program will manage the funds to buy basic foodstuffs for those in need.
