Oil and Gas: Vietnam rejects Russian proposal to increase oil production

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, has said that Vietnam has rejected a proposal by Russian specialists to increase oil production by the Russian-Vietnamese joint venture Vietsovpetro.

After visiting the Vietsovpetro office in Vung Tau, he told reporters that it would be expedient to increase oil production by the company. He added that both sides have agreed to set up a working group to prepare a draft of a new intergovernmental agreement on Vietsovpetro operations.
