Small Business: You don't need a piece of paper to succeed - you just need ability and drive

A study by the Royal Bank of Scotland, backs up statements I have been making for years. A good education is not a necessary prerequisite to becoming a successful entrepreneur.

The study shows that the average British small business owner left school at age 16 and nearly one in five has no educational qualifications. Almost half of respondents rejected higher or further education and quit school at 15 or 16, the study found. Further more, only 5% held a professional qualification.
