Advertising: Bloody hell - the Brits ban our ad!

Towards the end of February, I posted an article on Australia's new $180 million international tourism campaign, featuring the tag-line, "Where the bloody hell are you?"

Apparently Britain's Advertising Standards Authority, who have about as much vision as Marks & Spencers management on valium, have decided it is too vulgar for British audiences and have decided to ban it.

Scott Morrison, the managing director of the Australian government's tourism promotion agency, Tourism Australia, said "We are already running in the United States, we are already running in New Zealand - if you can run the thing in Utah, I imagine the UK will have to have a good think about how close they are in touch with community standards."
