Goodnight from Sydney

Yesterday I had an appointment n Sydney's CBD (Central Business District). Although I am only a ten minute bus ride away, it has been some time since I have had either reason or opportunity to go there. I am one of those rare animals who love the hustle and bustle of a large city, and I realised how much I miss something that was once so familiar to me.

Appointment over, I thought, "Bugger it. I don't have this opportunity very often so I will spend a little time walking around and visit the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens. Again, it has been sometime since I had the pleasure of basking in the beauty and the peace and quiet of the gardens.

I also noticed a new phenomena.

Lots of people walking around with little metal boxes attached to their hands and holding their arms at eye level. I had the distinct impression that the photograph has become more important than enjoying the moment.

I was fascinated by one young chap who gave a very good impersonation of a hyperactive fly with its arse on fire. Dashing here, dashing there, face filled with concern, he would hold the camera, point at any damn thing, and snap. The only time he will get to see the Botanical Gardens, is when he downloads the photos!

Wherever you may be - be safe!
