Government: Portugal plans sweeping government reforms

Portugal has announced it is to axe up to 187 government bodies, in the biggest set of state reforms since the nation returned to democracy in 1974.
Minister of State and Finance Minister Teixeira dos Santos said the reforms would affect central and local government services. He added that officials would not be sacked, but given "incentives to leave".

Oh, I love that phrase!
