Sears Canada Inc.is to shed around 190 jobs at distribution centres in two Ontario communities, with the possibility of more redundancies at a later time.
Company spokesman Vincent Power, said that the job cuts in Belleville (100) and Vaughan (90) were part of a continuing operational review.
"In those facilities we've made some improvements to processes and procedures over the past few years and a more current review of our staffing ... shows that we were able make some reductions."
The warehouse complex in Belleville, the company's largest in Canada, has 1,500 employees.
