Human Resources: United Bank for Africa invests in human capital

Nigeria: The United Bank for Africa Plc said it has committed about $479,559 on human capital development to position the bank at the forefront of customer service and product innovation in the post consolidation banking environment.

Head, Human Capital Management, UBA, Mrs. Abigail Isokpan, who representing the bank's Group Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Tony Elumelu, told a press conference that the funds would go into an "elaborate and extensive training program for all staff of the bank for the 2006 financial year."

The training is aimed at enhancing employee capacity to assume a leadership role in the competitive banking industry and will be administered by leading international and Nigerian consulting firms.
