International Development: Vietnam secures aid from Luxembourg and Belgium

Vietnam has secured aid from Luxembourg and Belgium after a Vietnamese delegation visited both countries. Luxembourg is providing aid worth $59.8 million and Belgium $11.9 million.

Luxembourg, will provide the money under official development assistance (ODA) for 2006-2010, which will be used to continue poverty alleviation in rural and mountainous areas. Belgium's aid will be used to build a national radioactive isotopes center for research and application of nuclear medicine in Vietnam.
