International Relations: South Korean President heads to Africa

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, is embarking on a nine-day trip to Egypt, Nigeria and Algeria as part of his efforts to boost diplomatic relations with the three countries. During his trip he will hold summit talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Nigerian President Olugegun Obasanjo and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

During his visit to Cairo, Roh will meet with his Egyptian counterpart to discuss relating to the Korean Peninsula and the Middle East, as well as ways to enhance bilateral ties.

According to Roh's spokesman, during his state visit to Nigeria, Roh will discuss ways to enhance mutual benefits in energy, resources and infrastructure construction.
