Outsourcing: UN Staff Union protest Annan's plans for outsourcing

Secretary General Kofi Annan's proposal for outsourcing some UN jobs including printing and publishing, have caused the Staff Union to hand him an overwhelming vote of "no-confidence."

In a resolution, the union expressed solidarity (oh dontcha just love that over-used word) with the affected staff and decided to meet in two weeks' time to review the situation.
The resolution was adopted at an emergency meeting of the staff union attended by over 500 UN employees.
