Defense: Pakistan to buy combat planes from U.S. and China

Pakistan is to buy 77 F-16 fighter planes from the U.S. and an unspecified number of multi-role combat aircrafts from China. The purchases were approved by the Pakistani Federal cabinet, on Wednesday.

FT.COM reports that last November, General Pervez Musharraf, suspended plans for the purchase of new fighter aircraft because of concerns that donors eager to help deal with the aftermath of a devastating earthquake, would pull out if the country planned to spend money on planes.

Cluey little bugger aint he!
