Easter: Wherever you may be, and what ever your beliefs - have a happy and safe Easter

It is Good Friday here in Sydney, a day marked by a public holiday and closure of businesses. If you are looking for a supermarket in Sydney today - don't bother.

I do not have a problem with that - it is an occasion that should be marked, observed and respected. This is where I have a problem.

As with Christmas, many of those who celebrate Easter are starting to feel like a smoker having a legal but frowned upon cigarette. Personally I feel pretty pissed of that I can not enjoy a legal pleasure (if I smoked pot, I would have all sorts of "rights" groups supporting me). I do not intend to feel that way about Christmas or Easter.

So, to all my readers, wherever you may be, and whatever your political, social or religious beliefs - have a happy and safe Easter.

And if my wishing others a happy Easter offends anyone - tough titties.

I respect other cultures, beliefs and religions and I expect the same in return. Sadly, there is always a small but vocal minority who misrepresent the views and the beliefs of the majority. It happens on both sides - no ideology wether religious or political, is free from bigots, radicals and agenda pushers.

Message over - normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!
