Interfax has reported that the construction of the Laxiwa hydropower project, the largest on the Yellow River, was officially launched on April 15.The project is located on the mainstream of the Yellow River in Qinghai Province, in China's arid northwest. It is the second staired hydropower project on the upper stream of the Yellow River between the Longyang and Qingtong gorges, state news agency Xinhua reported.
