Foreign Investment: China to invest $60 billion overseas between 2006-2010

Shanghai Securities News, has reported that Chinese investors are expected to invest a total of $60 bln overseas over the next five years.

The report cited Li Yongjun, an official with the Ministry of Commerce, who said that China's overseas direct investment is projected to hit $60 bln between 2006-2010, with annual overseas investment averaging $10 bln."

Mergers and acquisitions are a major way for Chinese firms to make direct investment outside China." Li was quoted as saying.

In addition, China will also sign bilateral investment agreements with targeted countries to secure fair market access for domestic firms.
