Nepal's state run radio has reported that The Royal Nepal Academy for Science and Technology (RONAST) has said Nepal has around 28,100 people employed in sectors related with science and technology. The figure represents a 300 percent increase on the last figures announced in 1996.

Dayananda Bajracharya, vice chancellor at RONAST, said, "There are great opportunities of higher education in foreign countries in science and technology and enough potential of employment at home".
