Security: India and Uzbekistan resolve to fight terrorism

India and Uzbekistan, have resolved to combat terrorism, describing it as one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.

In a joint statement Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, condemned international terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and underlined their resolve to fight this menace in the short as well as the long-term.

The two leaders said that their governments have agreed on the "need for expeditious adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism within the framework of the United Nations."
