Sexual Behaviours: Gender equality relates to better sex for older couples

A new study by the Global Study of Sexual Attitudes and Behaviors, has found that older couples who live in more gender-equal societies enjoy better sex lives than those who experience more gender inequality.

The study surveyed older couples in 29 countries worldwide and found that in Western societies, where relationships are based on equality, couples rated their satisfaction with their sex lives more highly than in countries where males are more dominant.

Austria, the US and Spain are the countries where older couples enjoy sex the most, while Japan and Taiwan faired the worst. The study, published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, surveyed 27,500 couples between the ages of 40 and 80, and is the first to study the sexual satisfaction of middle-aged and older couples worldwide.

As for me, I off to book my ticket to Austria. Hang on, my mum comes from there.

U.S. or Spain here I come!
